Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is seeking an Automation Technician to maintain and improve plant automation systems at our Mount Gilead, NC site. You will troubleshoot, install, and calibrate control equipment, support operations, and work with diverse teams to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role requires an Associate's degree in electrical tech or equivalent, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with CAD, ladder logic, and HMI software.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in electrical technology.
• Five+ years recent experience repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and publications.
• Proficient with CAD, ladder logic software, HMI development software and Microsoft Office.
• In-depth knowledge of the electrical code and tools/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, installs, or replaces programmable automation and controls equipment.
• Troubleshoots, installs, or replaces variable frequency drives in stand-alone applications as well as integrating into existing systems.
• Solves process control related problems (control cycles, PID loops) in existing programs.
• Troubleshoots automation networks (Controls component as well as servers - client network).
• Supports manufacturing process by providing technical support for manufacturing operations.
• Installs, replaces and calibrates field instrumentation including RTDs, thermocouples, flow meters, and pressure transducers.
• Orders needed parts for replacements or upgrades and checks delivery dates.
• Handles small improvement projects (1 to 10 sensors/actors) from start to finish.
• Attends training and follows SOPs; performs housekeeping and other tasks as assigned.
