Job summary

TradeWorX in Bridgeville, PA is seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Technician for a long-term role. You will work on shop and field projects, supporting design, startup, and commissioning of automatic control systems.

The position emphasizes PLC programming, HMI configuration, instrumentation, and field service with opportunities to grow in industrial automation. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Industrial automation, controls, or instrumentation experience required.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a multimeter.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Must provide basic electrical hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Emerson platforms.
• Develop and configure HMI applications using Red Lion Crimson or similar software.
• Install, commission, and troubleshoot industrial automation and control systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, control narratives, and project documentation.
• Configure and troubleshoot instrumentation, transmitters, sensors, relays, switches, and 4–20mA control loops.
• Support startup, commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, industrial networking, and field service activities.
