Job summary

CooperSurgical is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III (ME3) focused on controls, automation, and electronics to solve complex manufacturing problems and drive process improvements.

You will lead automation initiatives, investigate root causes, and support daily operations with the maintenance team. Mentorship of junior engineers and collaboration with R&D are expected, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma and root cause analysis.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of efficient manufacturing processes and automation for medical device products, with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes via automation and Lean Six Sigma to improve efficiency, yield, and productivity while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Conduct process validations, process capability studies, and root cause analyses to identify and resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and lead project plans and proposals including Gantt charts, cost-benefit analysis, risk assessments, and regulatory strategies.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability and proper process validation.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior manufacturing engineers, fostering knowledge sharing.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation: work instructions, SOPs, and process control plans.
• Support the manufacturing floor with maintenance engineers and technicians to resolve downtime.
