Job summary

ERock, a leading distributed energy innovator in the United States, is seeking an Automation and Controls Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and commissioning generator controls, GMCs, PLCs, RTACs, and SCADA interfaces for microgrid facilities.

You will drive technical decisions, manage complex projects, and collaborate with EPC, IT, NOC, and O&M teams to ensure reliable, scalable power solutions.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in automation and controls with leadership experience.
• Experience in generator paralleling, microgrids, and power systems.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical/controls engineering or related field.
• Hands-on PLC/SCADA programming and testing experience.
• Ability to travel regularly for site work.

Responsibilities

• Manage A&C engineers and technicians; oversee staffing, performance, and development.
• Lead controls integration from project prep through commissioning and handover.
• Independently evaluate controls and troubleshoot complex issues; provide technical direction.
• Coordinate with Commissioning Manager, IT, NOC, EPC, and O&M for field execution.
• Oversee FAT/SAT, test procedures, and turnover; ensure readiness and safety compliance.
• Travel as needed to support urgent operational escalations and site problems.
