Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises in Minnesota seeks an engineering-oriented intern to support commissioning and startup of control systems on industrial projects. You’ll perform I/O checkout, loop verification, and wiring validation for field devices and assist with control panel checkout on site.

You will work with Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, travel 50%+, and document results while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a related engineering field or technology program.
• Solid understanding of control systems and instrumentation.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform I/O checkout, loop verification, and point-to-point wiring validation for field devices and control systems.
• Assist with control panel checkout and support commissioning and startup activities onsite.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system and network issues during commissioning.
• Support basic PLC configuration using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• Document commissioning results and configurations; communicate progress with engineers and project managers.
