Job summary

Hydro Resources is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Field Technician 3 in Colorado. You will perform installation, wiring, maintenance, and startup of pumping systems, VFDs, telemetry, PLC/HMI programming, and SCADA interfaces.

The role requires field service, safety focus, and the ability to work with various vendors and equipment. Travel to sites and out-of-state jobsites is involved. Training and certifications are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license without restrictions that would prevent the performance of assigned job duties.
• Maintain a good driving record that meets company requirements.
• Maintain a current DOT Physical for CMV operation when required for assigned vehicle or equipment operation.
• Maintain all company-required equipment certificates applicable to assigned duties.
• Maintain LMS Safety Training and Courses.
• Have a minimum of 2+ years of applicable experience.
• Trade School education or training as identified by the Controls Capabilities Matrix.
• Have completed Green to White Hard Hat Safety Training.
• Maintain the NFPA 70E Arc Flash Certificate.
• Be familiar with Hydro HSE Manual and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform field-service work involving commercial water-well pumping systems, electrical controls, instrumentation, telemetry, VFDs, and related equipment.
• Install, wire, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and start pumps, motors, control panels, instrumentation, telemetry devices, and related equipment.
• Perform field wiring and supervise or support configuration and startup of submersible water-well pumps within competency.
• Install and wire VFDs, including systems utilizing external filters.
• Use basic knowledge of VFD parameters when installing, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing VFD systems.
• Work with multiple VFDs and apply drive parameter understanding.
• Use test equipment to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting.
• Apply electronics theory and basic communications knowledge during tasks.
• Assist with AutoCAD/Electra drawings and basic electrical drawings.
• Perform basic PLC and HMI programming within demonstrated competency.
• Assist with SCADA communication setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Travel to customer locations and remote sites as assigned.
• Maintain safety, daily records, and required company documentation.
