Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

Join a high-volume manufacturing operation where automation, innovation, and technology are at the center of operational excellence. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and executing automation strategy, driving digital transformation, and elevating plant performance through advanced engineering solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Define and execute the automation and controls roadmap aligned with long-term business and operational goals
  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy advanced technologies (IIoT, robotics, machine learning) to drive scalability and performance
  • Build and present capital plans, business cases, and technology strategies to senior leadership

Drive Automation & Systems Integration

  • Lead the design, standardization, and deployment of automation systems across production lines
  • Ensure seamless integration, system reliability, and cybersecurity across automation platforms
  • Champion modernization initiatives and large-scale transformation efforts

Deliver Operational Impact

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Maintenance to solve complex manufacturing challenges
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning of new systems
  • Drive improvements in uptime, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through data-driven solutions

Lead & Develop Talent

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing automation and controls engineering team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex automation and controls challenges

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Automation, or related field)
  • 8+ years of experience in automation/controls engineering within high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams
  • Strong expertise in PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, and controls architecture
  • Experience implementing advanced manufacturing technologies (IIoT, robotics, data/AI-driven systems)
  • Demonstrated success leading capital projects and large-scale automation initiatives
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to build and present ROI-driven capital plans
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills
  • Hands-on problem solver with both strategic vision and execution capability
