Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC seeks an Automation and Controls Engineering Manager to oversee maintenance teams in the Hickory Complex and manage site electrical systems and controls. You will lead capital projects, develop electrical drawings, and mentor technicians to optimize plant performance.

Ideal candidates bring extensive HMI/PLC experience, strong leadership, and a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS/EE degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (10+ years).
• 7+ years’ experience with HMI programming and PLC programming.
• 7+ years’ experience with AC/DC drive and motion control systems.
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus.
• 2+ years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises automation technicians at the Hickory Complex.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical and control systems and drive improvements.
• Lead capital projects and provide PLC, drives, HMI network expertise.
• Develop plant masterplan for electrical systems and automation.
• Source cost-effective solutions while maintaining flexibility and sustainability.
• Mentor Automation and Multi-Craft Technicians.
• Lead process improvement efforts using Lean/Six Sigma or related methods.
