Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist for the Solar Cell Manufacturing facility in Texas. This role troubleshoots complex controls issues, supports long-term reliability, and assists in designing new control components.

The incumbent will work with Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens TIA, and Allen‑Bradley RS Logix, building and validating control systems and interfacing with vendor equipment. The position requires hands-on electrical and controls software expertise, plus experience wiring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or science discipline or 2+ years in manufacturing
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems is required

Responsibilities

• Integrate vendor/OEM equipment into centralized SCADA (Ignition) for line control
• Maximize uptime of automation assets on manufacturing lines
• Develop data analysis tools to identify downtime causes and propose long-term fixes
• Specify components, sensors, and hardware for controls solutions
• Wire, commission, and validate control systems
• Design and commission PLC/HMI software applications and enhancements
• Read and interpret Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens TIA, and RS Logix logic
• Read system schematics and support production devices (HMIs, IoT)
