Amerex Corporation, a leader in fire suppression products, seeks an Automation & Equipment professional to support PLC/HMI/SCADA development, control-network design, and project management. The role focuses on Rockwell platforms, safety compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

You will translate requirements into control specifications, lead system improvements, and coordinate with IT on OT security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field or equivalent.
• 3–5 years programming and troubleshooting PLCs in a manufacturing environment with Rockwell proficiency.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Practical understanding of machine safety requirements and electrical safe work practices.
• Willingness to support production during off-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs on Rockwell Automation platform (Studio 5000, ControlLogix/CompactLogix).
• Design, configure, and support industrial control networks including EtherNet/IP and IP addressing schemes; coordinate with IT on OT security.
• Evaluate existing control systems, identify gaps, and implement improvements for reliability, safety, and maintainability.
• Translate product and process requirements into control system specifications by studying equipment and process flow on the floor.
• Procure and commission controls hardware including drives, servos, sensors, safety devices; manage FAT/SAT/startup and operator handoff.
• Collect/process production data, perform ROI/payback analysis to justify improvements and capital investments.
• Provide technical troubleshooting for control system faults; support lockout/tagout, guarding, and risk assessment; maintain controls documentation.
• Train maintenance technicians and operators; manage integrators and vendors on projects.
