Job summary

General Motors is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our manufacturing operations on a 2nd shift. You will design and modify electrical control circuits, program PLCs and HMIs, and work on robotic systems to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent), 3+ years in manufacturing and ICS experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional problem solving. Expect onsite work with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of Industrial Control System experience.
• Proficient in PLC and HMI Programming.
• Troubleshooting Servo and VFD systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing operations.
• Design and modify electrical control circuits and programs.
• Perform a wide range of engineering tasks on robotic systems using engineering software and hardware.
• Lead technical problem solving with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot Industrial Vision Systems and support production through diagnostics and repairs.
• Support and train electricians and oversee contractor installations.
• Develop and plan electrical projects, collaborating at all organizational levels.
• Work autonomously with accountability for results.
