Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Anoka, MN to design, implement, and support automated manufacturing systems in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead PLC programming efforts, integrate vision systems and robotics, and ensure compliance with NEC/OSHA safety standards while collaborating across IT, engineering, and operations teams. A strong background in Allen-Bradley or Omron systems is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in automated manufacturing systems and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Experience with servo motion, robotics integration, and automation systems.
• Familiar with machine vision platforms (Cognex, Keyence, Omron) and lighting/optics for inspection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, HMI/SCADA development, and NEC/OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, development, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems.
• Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems integrated with vision systems and robotics.
• Develop and maintain electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, and systems for the plant.
• Coordinate installation, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with specs and codes.
• Oversee projects to ensure on-time delivery and budget alignment.
• Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA interfaces for real-time visualization and diagnostics.
