Job summary

Afinitas is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and maintain control system programs for equipment and automation systems. You will troubleshoot, develop, and document software, assist customers and service teams, and build a technical knowledge base with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires designing new controls, upgrading existing systems, and contributing to manuals and diagnostics while staying current with system architectures. Travel to customer facilities is involved.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree or 2-year technical degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of PLC experience in manufacturing/plant environments.
• Proficient with electrical systems including motors, AC drives, and control circuits.
• Experience with Eplan, AutoCAD or similar software.
• Understanding of electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Understanding of ladder logic programming.
• Experience in automation controls systems design and developing PLC programs.
• Ability to collaborate across departments; strong listening and communication.
• Detail oriented and able to work independently.
• Judgement to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement control systems for new equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug software to improve efficiency.
• Support customer and service technicians remotely and on-site.
• Create and maintain technical documents and procedures.
• Log development processes and specifications.
• Collaborate across departments to resolve issues.
