Job summary

HEXPOL Compounding Americas seeks a Corporate Controls Engineer to join our technical team and provide hands-on automation and controls support across all U.S.-based rubber mixing facilities. You will troubleshoot, integrate equipment, and lead automation projects to improve process reliability.

You will collaborate with plant teams, project engineers, and technical staff, developing PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control panels while supporting remote sites and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls or Mechanical Engineering or related field; experience may replace education.
• 3–5 years of experience in Controls Engineering; 3–5 years in manufacturing (rubber/chemical/plastics preferred).
• Experience with Ignition for data analysis, reporting, alarms; 480V and below electrical trouble shooting.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Structured text, Ethernet/IP/Remote IO, basic IT networking.
• Lean manufacturing experience; strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC programs on various platforms.
• Integrate production equipment into operations systems.
• Program and control VFDs via PLC controls and locally as needed.
• Develop electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Develop, build and troubleshoot panels.
• Support locations remotely on an on-call basis.
• Assist with project management to support Project Engineers.
• Travel up to 30%, may include international travel.
