Job summary

Alcon is seeking an Associate - General Engineering (Professional Path) in Fort Worth, TX. The role centers on improving equipment uptime, quality, safety, and productivity through automation enhancements, root cause analysis, and project execution.

You will develop test procedures, manage budgets, and supervise contractors to support efficient operations and team performance. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on automation experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.
• Fluent read/write/understand English.
• On-site Fort Worth, TX with minimal travel.
• Preferred: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC, VFDs/servo motion systems, and vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support CIP initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Analyze equipment performance data to improve uptime and quality.
• Investigate root causes of recurring equipment failures.
• Develop corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Monitor OEE, downtime losses, cycle time, and reliability trends.
• Support value stream improvements and waste reduction.
• Standardize equipment, controls, operating practices, and maintenance strategies.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, vision, and networking systems.
• Assist with programming, testing, and startup activities.
• Support upgrades and modernization projects for equipment.
• Collaborate with plant engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Maintain control system documentation and backups.
• Develop automation standards and participate in CAPEX projects.
• Assist in design reviews, installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Create technical documentation, project plans, and reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors and support FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ.
