Job summary

Dennis Group, a design-build engineering firm and general contractor for food and beverage facilities, seeks an Automation/Controls Engineer who will work closely with process, packaging, and building engineers to commission and qualify production facilities. Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience with major PLC vendors (Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, GE Fanuc, Honeywell).
• 4-7 years of experience with Visual Basic, SQL, MS Access; database programming a plus.
• 4-7 years designing/implementing process network infrastructure (Ethernet, DeviceNet, ProfiBus, etc.).
• Industrial manufacturing experience; strong MS Office and AutoCAD skills.
• Client-facing role requiring professional communication and travel (35%-50%).

Responsibilities

• Designs and troubleshoots software and hardware for control systems using PLCs.
• Automates manufacturing processes with instrumentation and controls systems.
• Designs, wires, and procures control panels and electrical equipment.
• Develops PLC applications and embedded controls; install and startup at client sites.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and manage installation contractors.
• Document specifications and operating procedures; act as primary client technical contact.
