Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is seeking a skilled Controls & Automation Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations through automation, process control, and digital integration. You will integrate equipment from multiple OEM vendors into a seamless ice cream production line, ensuring reliable communication and safe operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in automation/controls engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Proven experience in equipment integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OEMs.
• Knowledge of MES, data historians, and analytics tools (Power BI).
• Exposure to robotics, vision systems, and advanced automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Lead integration of equipment from multiple OEMs into a single production line.
• Align control philosophies and communication across vendor systems.
• Ensure smooth operation of the full production line during start-up and run.
• Coordinate interfaces across processing, packaging, utilities, and ancillary equipment.
• Lead automation scope for capital projects and line upgrades.
• Collaborate with OEMs, engineering, and site stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities including FAT, SAT, and site validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues to ensure reliability.
• Optimize control logic to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Integrate plant automation with MES, ERP, historians, and data platforms.
• Support development of digital solutions and data dashboards.
• Provide maintenance and operations with technical automation support.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance for control systems.
