JP Automation, Inc. is a Midwest-based automation distributor seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot advanced control systems for industrial applications.

You will integrate electrical and mechanical components and utilize PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion control, vision systems, and robotics. The role requires an EET/ECET degree, 3–5 years of industrial experience, and strong communication skills for diverse audiences.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and troubleshoot advanced control systems for industrial automation applications. Your expertise will drive project success from conception through implementation, ensuring seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components while leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Motion Control Systems, Vision Systems, Robotics, and others.

• EET, ECET graduate or equivalent with at least a 3.0 GPA


• 3-5 years working experience in an industrial environment required


• Excellent written and verbal communication ability with technical/non-technical subject matter ranging from management level to skilled trades personnel audiences


• Must work closely with corporate leaders as well as peers


• We are not accepting OPT and H1B candidates at this time. All candidates MUST currently reside in the USA.

Experience working with industrial control systems

• PLC and HMI software development required


• Control system electrical and software troubleshooting ability required


• Direct experience candidates only will be considered
