Job description

Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Automation Controls Engineer at our Columbia, MO location.

This position covers the operations for first shift Monday - Friday from 7:00/8:00 to 4:00/5:00 pm.

What will you do?

  • Create automated equipment/machine specifications which includes end of line test equipment.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to design and deploy assembly lines, including automated equipment.
  • Develop, deploy, and debug PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment.
  • Integrate machines and assembly lines into MIS and plants’ digital manufacturing execution systems.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing manufacturing assembly lines for improving efficiency and quality robustness.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and implement new hardware and software solutions.

Who will you report to? Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics is highly preferred.
  • Strong electrical, controls and system integration knowledge.
  • Experience with LabView and LabView Test Stand is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of electronics and electronic design.
  • Experience in writing software, programming, and software engineering.
  • Experience with PLC and Industrial Controls.
  • 2+ years of experience in the automation industry.
  • Experience in assembly line equipment design and deployment preferred.
