Job summary

LVI Associates seeks an Automation Controls Engineer in Mentor, OH to lead full-cycle automation projects from concept through commissioning on-site. The role requires strong expertise in robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems, with hands-on programming on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms and travel to customer sites.

You will work directly with customers, design controls architectures, and support upgrades, while joining innovative automation teams with a competitive compensation

Qualifications

  • Experience programming and integrating industrial robots
  • Strong PLC programming with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens
  • Background in motion control, servo systems and VFDs
  • Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex/Keyence)
  • Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet)
  • Ability to manage projects and communicate with customers

Responsibilities

  • Lead automation controls projects from design through commissioning
  • Design and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety systems
  • Program and integrate robots (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman)
  • Develop PLC/HMI apps on Allen-Bradley and Siemens
  • Integrate vision systems for inspection and quality control
  • Define controls architecture, I/O layouts, BOMs, networks, safety
  • Support panel reviews, FATs, installations, site startups
  • Troubleshoot systems and support upgrades
  • Assist with controls estimating and proposals

Automation Controls Engineer
