Job summary

Symbotic Perris, CA is seeking a Cell Operator to handle the upkeep and operation of automated adapters interfacing with the Symbotic system. You will support system readiness to hit performance targets and use HMI terminals to run equipment efficiently.

The role sits in the Customer Operations team, focusing on day-to-day robotic material handling, safety, quality, and system performance while collaborating with onsite customers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems or equivalent training.
• Ability to perform system inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, and measurements.
• Ability to prioritize work to maximize uptime and throughput in an automated cell.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters to ensure equipment is ready to run.
• Process and monitor flow of the automated storage and retrieval system to maximize throughput.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic system.
• Diagnose system stoppages and return to service using HMI and manual intervention.
• Communicate issues impacting production to leadership and escalate as needed.
• Contribute to system uptime through robot recovery and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct periodic inspections including cleaning, lubrication, and validation.
• Report out-of-spec conditions and perform root cause corrective action.
• Maintain safety protocols, PPE usage, and radio etiquette on site.
• Perform rover bot upkeep and automated vehicle recovery within restricted environments.
