Job summary

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician for the Fargo, ND location on our weekend shift. The role focuses on automation troubleshooting, repairs, and supporting day-to-day operations on the plant floor.

You will work with Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, and Operations to diagnose problems in real time, keep production running, and contribute to control panel upgrades and schematic improvements.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred in Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Three+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation or control systems may substitute for a degree.
• PLC programming experience or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for PLC-controlled automation and control systems.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Perform wiring, sensor replacement, and control panel troubleshooting on schedule.
• Document repair requests and track issues using maintenance systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations and engineering to support safe, efficient production.

Job Overview

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician on our weekend shift, at the Fargo, ND location. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys being hands-on with equipment and applying automation skills directly on the plant floor. The primary focus of this role will be on automation and automatic controls related troubleshooting, repairs and day-to-day operational support. A secondary focus includes supporting controls related equipment improvement and upgrade projects, such as equipment upgrades, improvements, program changes and improvements, upgrading or improving control panel wiring, and creating or updating schematics.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Automation & Controls Technicians, Engineers, and Operations, responding to floor calls, resolving automation and controls issues, and ensuring equipment reliability. If you enjoy diagnosing problems in real time and using your knowledge of control systems to help keep production running, this could be a great fit.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

Pay:

$29.00-38.00/hour (based on experience) + 20% Night Shift Premium

Highlights of your role

• Perform timely machine wiring, sensor replacement, control panel troubleshooting support
• Utilize maintenance systems to document repair requests, track issues, and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
