Job description

Join to apply for the Automation and Control Technician role at Lifetime Products.

For over 35 years, Lifetime Products, Inc., has applied innovation and cutting-edge technology in plastics and metals to create a family of affordable lifestyle products that feature superior strength and durability. Our products include folding tables, chairs, basketball systems, storage sheds, kayaks, paddle boards, and playsets. We are seeking employees to help build our Automation and Controls Department in our Clearfield, UT location.

The role supports large-scale automation and robotics to ensure the safe operation of automation systems and to produce high-quality products. The Robot and Automation Technician will work with engineering, machine processors/production teams, and maintenance on systems such as Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley and B&R PLC controls, conveyors, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain automation systems and robotic components to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  2. Perform planned preventative maintenance on automation systems, robotic components, molding machines, and support equipment.
  3. Repair and adjust sensors, vision systems, pickup locations, vacuum systems, parts carriers, and transfer/loading systems.
  4. Prioritize emergency repairs in a team environment based on organizational needs.
  5. Collaborate with engineering teams on robotic cell integrations, start-up, and troubleshooting.
  6. Service and repair of internally engineered and OEM automation systems.
  7. Familiarity with PLC programming (preferably Allen-Bradley), HMI modifications, electrical troubleshooting, and production support.
  8. Understanding of industrial machine networking (Ethernet I/P, EtherCat, SCADA).
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree/Technical School Training focused on Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical fields.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Automated Systems and Controls.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with PLC programming (1-2 years) and HMI.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical control drawings.
  • Systematic troubleshooting skills.
  • AutoCAD electrical experience is preferred.
  • Availability for 24/7 emergency on-call duties as needed.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Must pass a background check.
