The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at McKesson is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor responsible for building and scaling AIM28's analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement capabilities. Reporting directly to the AIM28 Finance Lead, this role involves designing and owning end-to-end data models, ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automation solutions that convert complex, fragmented data into trusted insights for executives and program leaders. The role also includes supporting strategic projects across the organization. Ideal candidates will possess deep technical expertise in SQL, data modeling, BI visualization, automation, and AI-enabled analytics, combined with strong business and finance acumen. Operating as the sole analytics builder within the AIM28 Finance team, this individual will establish the program's single source of truth for key performance indicators, benefits, investments, and value-realization reporting. They will also drive self-service analytics, reporting automation, and AI-powered insights across the AIM28 portfolio. This position involves leading the development of business intelligence, data visualization, analytics, and automation for the AIM28 program and other strategic initiatives within U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution (USPD). AIM28 is McKesson's AI-enabled transformation program, structured around Big Bets, each accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will translate Big Bet data into automated, trusted benefit and value-realization reports for program leadership and senior executives. The role requires architecting AI-ready analytics and reporting models that combine traditional dashboards with AI capabilities such as automated narratives and conversational agents, enabling stakeholders to self-serve insights more efficiently. The candidate will establish transformation logic for raw data, integrate scattered reporting sources into standardized solutions, and act as a highly visible individual contributor, owning the full analytics stack from requirements to deployment and adoption. Working closely with the AIM28 Finance Lead, Big Bet teams, transformation office, and McKesson Technology, the analyst will codify KPI definitions and benefit methodologies into governed data models, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the program. This role is embedded within Finance, not a traditional BI or data engineering team, requiring the candidate to independently design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain solutions, often working with raw, manual, or inconsistent data sources.
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate a builder's mindset, capable of transforming loosely defined problems into comprehensive solutions. Comfort with ambiguity and imperfect data is essential, as the role involves working with raw extracts, manual spreadsheets, and shifting requirements. Business acumen and financial literacy are critical, with experience partnering with finance or FP&A teams, understanding ROI, forecasting, variance analysis, and business-case logic.
The ideal candidate is a standalone technical individual contributor, comfortable owning the entire analytics process end-to-end without reliance on a dedicated team. Proven experience developing and monitoring KPIs, building automated reporting systems, and replacing manual workflows is required. Strong communication skills are necessary to present findings to senior leadership effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Additional qualifications include excellent organizational and prioritization skills, curiosity about AI applications such as GenAI and conversational agents, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement. Technical skills should include expert-level SQL, data modeling, and design skills, with the ability to optimize complex queries and performance tuning on large datasets.
