Job summary

FIC America Corp. in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago seeks an automatic press operator for the Stamping Department. You will set up, operate and monitor automatic press machines to shape metal parts to product specs, and document inspections and operations.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read English. Overtime and occasional Saturday work are required; second shift offers a $1/hour differential.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools or machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize abnormalities such as noise, jams, or defects.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures (LOTO, PPE).
• Willingness to cross-train and work overtime, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate, transfer or blanking presses.
• Start machines, monitor operations, and record data.
• Visually inspect parts to specifications.
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions per SOPs.
• Report defects and operating difficulties to supervisor.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments.
• Clean automatic press machines and complete inspections paperwork.
• Follow standard work instructions.
