Job summary

TempWorks Software Incorporated is hiring a full-time Machine Operator for the Belleville, MI area. Shift is 2nd, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM with overtime and some weekends. Pay starts at $17.00 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities include machine setup and operation of stamping presses, quality checks with calipers and micrometers, routine maintenance, and keeping production logs. Requires ability to read job orders and follow specifications; some blueprint reading is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a machine operator, press operator, punch press operator, or production operator in a manufacturing environment preferred - willing to train the right candidate
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting equipment
  • Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and measurement work
  • Able to read and follow job orders and production specifications; blueprint reading a plus
  • Experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Able to stand for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

  • Machine setup: Prepare machinery by installing plates, dies, cylinders, and other tooling according to job orders and product specifications
  • Operate stamping press equipment and regulate machine speeds, pressure, and temperature; feed raw materials into the equipment to keep production running
  • Perform in-process visual checks and dimensional measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; pull samples to prevent defects
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance; identify jams or malfunctions and request servicing when needed
  • Track order output, material usage, and downtime; fill out production logs and department paperwork
  • Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, including PPE

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay: $17.00, based on experience - plus overtime opportunities
  • Job type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2nd shift, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Overtime is available, some weekends are mandatory.
  • Location: Belleville MI

What You'll Do

  • Machine setup: Prepare machinery by installing plates, dies, cylinders, and other tooling according to job orders and product specifications.
  • Operation & control: Operate stamping press equipment and regulate machine speeds, pressure, and temperature; constantly feed raw materials (paper, metal, plastic) into the equipment to keep production running.
  • Quality assurance: Perform in-process visual checks and dimensional measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges; pull random samples to prevent defects and ensure alignment with color or shape standards.
  • Maintenance & troubleshooting: Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance; identify machine jams or malfunctions, make minor mechanical repairs, and request servicing when needed.
  • Documentation: Track order output, material usage, and downtime; accurately fill out required production logs and department paperwork.
  • Safety compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing and eye protection.
