Job summary

Eberhard Manufacturing in Strongsville, OH is hiring an Automatic Press Operator to set up, operate, and tear down presses ranging 75-400 tons and ensure production orders meet specifications.

The role requires basic math, 2 years of press experience, and the ability to read part prints. You will perform first piece inspections, record data for inventory, and uphold safety and ISO procedures on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years' press experience.
• Regular attendance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic Math skills.
• Ability to set safety devices such as Light Curtains and Pull Backs.
• Familiarity with PLS Controls and Servo Feeds.
• Knowledge of how to read part prints.
• Experience with press operations including strokes, die protection, and ram adjustments.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tear down Automatic (75-400 ton) and Secondary Presses (22-95 ton).
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks per specification to run job orders accurately and maximize productivity.
• Perform first piece quality inspection.
• Record data for inventory control including good parts, scrap, and other data as necessary.
• Monitor and notify supervisors of machine wear or damage for preventative maintenance.
• Meet established production criteria and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Perform rework or sorting as required.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and PPE; comply with ISO requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years' press experience
• Regular attendance
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic Math skills
• Ability to set safety device such as Light Curtains and Pull Backs
• Familiarity with PLS Controls and Servo Feeds
• Knowledge of how to read part prints
• Complete background in press working including: Single and Continuous strokes, Emergency Stops, Die Protection, PLS, Ram Adjustments, Die Clamping, Pilot Releases, Cradle Functions, Selection of Materials and Safety Procedures
• Knowledge of basic tools including: Micrometers Calipers, and other precision measuring tools

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in noisy, greasy, manufacturing environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb as necessary.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, micrometers, blue prints, and inspect parts produced.
