Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA, seeks an Automated Test Applications Engineer (Mil Aero; Software Development, System Design & Integration) to design and develop automated test solutions for defense and aerospace technology. You will guide hardware design, develop software in C#, and integrate the full system.

The role demands a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering, 5+ years of related experience, strong C# skills, Visual Studio, and familiarity with TestStand/TestStudio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering using Automated Test Equipment, Test Development Engineering, or similar.
• Strong programming skills with C# or other object-oriented languages.
• Experience with Visual Studio or other IDE and associated debug tools.
• Familiarity with Git or other source control tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy to turn complex customer requirements into complete automated test solutions, including fixturing, cabling, and software.
• Present strategies in standard design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDIR).
• Collaborate with engineers to guide design efforts supporting strategy.
• Develop custom software in C# to operate automated test equipment and fixturing.
• Integrate new software and hardware, debug system issues.
• Develop Operator Interfaces using TestStand or similar environments.
• Provide documentation for the software developed (user manuals, version descriptions).
• Work with high-speed digital buses, Ethernet, analog signals, power systems, etc.
• Develop primarily in C# with exposure to C, Python, LabVIEW.
