Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Considerable experience operating heavy-duty trucks and motorized equipment and maintaining them.

• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations for all equipment used by the Solid Waste Division.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated refuse collection units, rear loaders, knuckle boom, and single-stream trailers as required.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Inspect equipment before and after trips and log inspections.
• Identify containers needing service and report issues to supervisor.
• Perform manual tasks when not operating equipment.
• Ensure safety of refuse collectors on routes.
