Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking an AutoCAD Instructor to join its Continuing Education pool on a part-time, hourly basis to teach courses as needed across campus and other locations. The position requires a minimum of five years related work experience, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to develop lessons and curriculum.

Two years of teaching or training experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

  • Basic computer skills to communicate via email, input final student grades into WebDMC, input hours worked and conduct presentations as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Two (2) years teaching or training experience.
  • Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction and continually improve instruction quality.
  • Develop curriculum and instructor resources; provide students with a written syllabus that follows guidelines and clearly states objectives, requirements and evaluation methods.
  • Prepare course materials including grade sheets, attendance rosters, evaluations and hours worked; maintain attendance rosters and submit final copies to Continuing Education.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes per college policy and procedures.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.

The AutoCAD instructor demonstrates skill, knowledge, and abilities in the discipline of AutoCAD. The instructor maintains appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. The AutoCAD instructor is responsible for making continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction; developing and using a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years related work experience.

  • Maintain daily attendance rosters. Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.
