Actalent is seeking a Product Development Drafter (Mechanical/Electrical) for an onsite role in Melville, NY. The candidate will produce and revise detailed mechanical/electrical drawings, develop BOMs, and support ECNs/ECOs throughout the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into production-ready documentation, ensuring accuracy and conformance to standards. Experience in electro-mechanical product development is preferred.

Competenze

• 2+ years drafting in a manufacturing, engineering, or product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience creating and modifying mechanical and/or electrical assembly drawings.
• Experience developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and design revisions.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Product Development Drafter (Mechanical / Electrical)

Location: Plainview, NY

Compensation: $30 - $37 an Hour

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Product Development Drafter to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization that designs and manufactures complex electro-mechanical products for aerospace, industrial, and transportation applications.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings for manufactured products, assemblies, and components.

The Drafter will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and configuration management teams to develop technical documentation, maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and support products throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Important: This is not a construction, architectural, civil, MEP, or building design drafting position. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience drafting manufactured products, assemblies, components, and engineered systems in a product development or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Drawings & Drafting

• Create and revise detailed mechanical and electrical assembly drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop manufacturing drawing packages from engineering concepts, sketches, notes, and technical specifications.
• Produce assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and supporting manufacturing documentation.

• Aerospace, defense, electronics, industrial equipment, automation, or transportation industry experience.
• Familiarity with configuration management and document control processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, and engineering drawing standards.

• Candidates should be comfortable working directly with engineers to convert concepts, sketches, and design changes into accurate manufacturing documentation that supports production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melville, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
