Ohio Awning & Manufacturing Company is seeking a detail-oriented CAD/Draughting professional for in-person work in Cleveland. You will create shop drawings from field verifications for manufacturing and installation, design product solutions for customer needs, and produce concise drawings that clearly convey all required information.

Ohio Awning & Manufacturing Company has been manufacturing and installing commercial and residential awnings in Northeast Ohio for 160 years. Responsibilities

• Create working shop drawings from field verification for manufacturing and installation departments
• Work independently, with group input, to design product solutions for customer needs
• Provide well thought-out, concise drawings that convey clearly all required information
• Communicate actively with sales team to ensure customers receive shop drawings in a timely manner
• Assist manufacturing with detail clarification and query
• Coordinate with outside engineering for stamps/prepare drawings for City permits
• Acquire and maintain expert-level knowledge of our products
• Work with 3-D laser for patterning of framework, jobsites, and fabrics.

Traits and Qualifications

• High aptitude for prioritization, organization, and self-direction with limited supervision
• Ability to pivot priorities and easily adapt to project changes
• Experience in reading and understanding architectural plans
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clarity and precision
• Ability to thrive in a highly independent role
• Sense of humor
• Retention of product training and information given once or in small bursts
• Proficient use of Office 365
• Autodesk AutoCAD 3D experience preferred, technical education specific to CAD.
• Bonus: construction experience, degree in construction management or related field, drafting experience, welding/fabrication experience
