Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Lake Bluff, IL is seeking a versatile CAD Designer to support an Engineering team with electrical schematics, controls and building automation drawings, fire protection documentation, and other facility layouts.

The role involves revising existing drawings from engineer markups and field information, collaborating with subject matter experts, and applying our drawing standards and document control practices to ensure accurate, compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on AutoCAD 2022 or higher experience.
• Experience creating or revising electrical or controls drawings and schematics.
• Ability to interpret redlines and work across several engineering disciplines.
• BAS and fire protection exposure strongly preferred.
• Meridian or another engineering drawing management system is a plus.

I am looking for a versatile CAD Designer to support an Engineering team with electrical schematics, controls and building automation drawings, fire protection documentation, and other facility or laboratory layouts.

In this position you will revise existing drawings from engineer markups, field information, and project changes; work with subject matter experts; and apply the team’s drawing standards and document control practices.
