Job summary

Midas Auto Experts in New Jersey is seeking an Intermediate Level Technician to work independently and with peers in a full-service facility focused on inspection, diagnosis and repair. ASE certifications and/or automotive repair experience are valued as we build an environment of success.

The role involves safety inspections, diagnostics, tire work, battery and fluid service, and preventative maintenance. A willingness to learn and grow is essential in this hands-on shop.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of automotive basics.
• Ability to read service manuals, repair manuals and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform a thorough visual safety and courtesy inspection.
• Test parts and systems to ensure proper operation.
• Mounting, balancing and rotating tires.
• Replacing batteries.
• Changing bulbs, belts and hoses.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems (brake pads, belts, tires, water pumps).
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Handle more complex jobs with some assistance (diagnostics).
• Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs.
• Maintain and clean shop areas.
• Willingness to learn and grow as a technician.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
