Role Overview

A mid-level vehicle technician provides high-quality maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles. The technician offers exceptional service to customers and manages costs effectively. Work may be independent or team-based.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flushes, and vehicle inspections.
• Conduct complex repairs, diagnostics, and fabrication as needed.
• Perform repairs based on certification levels, including work on OBD II systems, brakes, tires, suspensions, electrical systems, safety inspections, and engine components.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and docking stations.
• Keep the work area clean, adhere to safety standards, and dispose of fluids properly.
• Maintain vehicle history and maintenance records; upfit new vehicles with equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, hybrid, and onboard computer systems to ensure vehicle availability.
• Engage in equipment design and moderate fabrication, including welding.
• Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs; may perform roadside assistance.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of vehicle servicing experience.
• 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Preferred

• Ongoing training to maintain A.S.E. certifications and stay current with technology and fleet changes.
• Some A.S.E. Automotive or Truck Certifications or related certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, and tolerate noise, exhaust, and outdoor conditions.
• Vision: close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $21.49 to $32.26, varying by location, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include commissions or incentives.

Benefits
