Dobbs Tire & Auto Center in Collinsville, IL is seeking an Automotive Technician / Auto Mechanic who is ASE certified or has 5+ years of experience to diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles.

The role offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $20.00 to $45.00, plus a full benefits package, 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications OR 5+ years of automotive technician experience in a professional shop.
• Missouri State Inspector License OR ability to obtain one.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Experience with tire installation, wheel balancing, steering, suspension, and automotive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain vehicles for safe operation.
• Perform wheel alignments, tire services, brakes, inspections, steering and suspension work.
• Perform Missouri state inspections or obtain certification.
• Use diagnostic tools and shop equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate service documentation for completed work.
• Collaborate with the team to keep the shop safe and efficient.
• Provide professional customer service when explaining repairs.

What Our Technicians Do

• Technicians diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• They perform wheel alignments, tire services, brake repairs, vehicle inspections, steering and suspension work, oil changes, tune-ups, and general automotive maintenance.
• Technicians perform Missouri state inspections or obtain certification to do so.
• They use diagnostic tools and shop equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine repair issues.
• Team members maintain accurate service documentation for completed work.
• Technicians work collaboratively with the team to keep the shop operating efficiently and safely.
• They provide professional customer service when explaining repair recommendations to customers.

What We Need

• ASE certifications OR 5+ years of automotive technician experience in a professional shop
• Missouri State Inspector License OR ability to obtain one
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• Experience with tire installation, wheel balancing, steering, suspension, and automotive maintenance
