Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC in Waldorf, MD is looking for a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services including tire mounting and balancing, oil changes, inspections, and other non‑technical tasks while delivering an excellent customer experience. Maintain a clean, safe shop, assist fellow technicians, stock tires, and help explain needed services to customers.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a High School Diploma or GED; must be 18+ and able to work days,

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Available to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology
• Change engine oil and filter
• Install and perform tire maintenance
• Install batteries and check starting / charging systems
• Install headlights and other small bulbs
• Repair flat tires
• Stock and unload tires
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur
• Clean and maintain an organized and neat shop
• Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules
