Job summary

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, is seeking a Mechanic Tech for our high-production shop in New York. You will perform diagnostic repair and maintenance on customer vehicles across various systems, reporting to the Mechanic Shop or manager.

Responsibilities cover A/C, brakes, electrical, transmissions, engines and more. Requires 2–3 years automotive repair experience, HS diploma or GED, and relevant certifications (A-4/A-5/A-7). Competitive hourly pay $20-$22 and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in automotive repair field.
• Two of three certifications A-4, A-5 or A-7 or a related area.
• Proficient in brake, tire and wheel, a/c, battery charge an.

Responsibilities

• A/C, Heater & Refrigeration - Flush system contaminants, evacuate system, add oil and charge with freon.
• Brakes - Diagnose brake problems, replace cylinders and calipers, perform failure analysis.
• Electrical Charging Systems - Perform full diagnostic, including in-depth analysis and corrections.
• Clutch - Perform failure analysis for premature or abuse, diagnose and repair all systems and related problems.
• Cooling systems - Check and adjust coolant levels, antifreezes, inspect for leaks, minor repairs, pressure test.
• Starting/Cranking System - Analyze to identify root cause, diagnose and repair.
• Lighting system and Electrical Accessories - Diagnose, repair, replace harnesses and modules.
• Drive Axles - Inspect for leaks, diagnostics and repairs as required.
• Transmission and Driveline - Lubricate, diagnostics, fluid changes, major repairs.
• All Engines – Check oil, noises, leaks; diagnose and repair.
• Fuel Systems - Diagnose malfunctions, repair injectors/pumps.
• Preventative Maintenance – Fault code identification and service interval reset.
• Steering and Alignment – Diagnose/repair steering systems, replace components.
• Suspension-Chassis and Cab - Diagnose noises, repair components.
• Tire and wheel maintenance - Repair/replace tires, TPMS, sensor programming.
• Track and record vehicle information; assist in shop duties; provide courteous service.
