Job summary

Jiffy Lube in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on cars, trucks, and other vehicles. You will inspect, diagnose issues, advise customers, and deliver reliable service with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires driving and communicating with customers, completing training, adhering to PPE and safety protocols, and working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean, organized shop.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver's license required.
• ASE Certification preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Succeeds in a team environment and works well with others.
• Passion for automotive repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each customer vehicle for necessary repairs and inform the customer/store management.
• Perform general auto mechanical repairs including brakes, tune ups, and light repair.
• Complete required computer-based training and on-the-job training within the required timeframe.
• Report for shift on time and dressed in proper uniform with PPE.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Greet guests professionally and attend store meetings, including monthly safety meetings.
• Guide vehicle through bays and assist with oil checks, fluids, and ancillary services as needed.
• Perform lower bay tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and leak checks.
