Job summary

Foremost Foods, Inc. in Guam seeks an Auto Mechanic I to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on our fleet to keep vehicles safe and reliable across Guam, the CNMI, and Micronesia.

You will assist with diagnosing simple mechanical issues, maintain service records, and follow safety procedures under supervision, while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.

Position Overview

The Auto Mechanic I performs routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs to ensure company vehicles remain safe, reliable, and operational. This position assists with diagnosing mechanical issues and maintaining accurate service records under the guidance of a supervisor or experienced mechanic.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns.
• Assist with basic repairs and replacement of vehicle parts.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Report major mechanical problems and repair needs to the supervisor/manager.
• Support the maintenance of company vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic and repair techniques.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and automotive equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to take on assigned tasks.
• Previous automotive experience or technical training is an advantage.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull automotive tools, equipment, tires, and vehicle parts as required.
• Ability to work in various positions when inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
• Ability to work in a garage or maintenance environment with exposure to noise, grease, oils, automotive fluids, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely work around vehicles, lifts, and mechanical equipment while following established safety procedures.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
