Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Design Engineering, or Business Development.
• Experience in sales, design, or customer service within a technical field.
• Strong understanding of the data center industry and related engineering requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc).
• Familiarity with racking engineering fundamentals.
• Competence with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with design solutions that align with Nucor capabilities and project timelines.
• Evaluate current product designs, identify areas for improvement, and engage in product development initiatives.
• Collaborate with consultant PEs, customers, and internal teams to design customized data center systems.
• Develop and review customer-facing designs, material take-offs, and technical documentation for data center infrastructure components.
• Drive sales growth in the data center sector by building and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and expanding customer accounts.
• Educate and train customers on Nucor Data Systems products and capabilities.
• Develop and present 3D model concepts for data center design solutions.
• Conduct on-site inspections of data center project installations to ensure compliance with design specification requirements, safety, and quality standards.
• Attend industry events and represent Nucor Data Systems as needed.
• Act as a key team member, working collaboratively with inter-company departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Nucor Data Systems is seeking a talented and innovative Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer is focusing on driving growth in the data center sector. This role is central to developing and expanding our business in the data center sector by providing technical sales support, creating design solutions, and building strong customer relationships. As a Sales Engineer, you will work closely with customers, engineers, and internal teams to deliver customized data center solutions that showcase Nucor’s industry-leading products.

• Experience with 3D modeling, material take-offs, and technical proposals.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, structural design, and steel fabrication.
• Experience collaborating with Professional Engineers, consultants, and customers.
