Job summary

ONE Gas and Oklahoma Natural Gas invite you to join as an Auto Maintenance Intern in Oklahoma City, OK. You will gain hands-on experience repairing and servicing company vehicles and equipment while learning from skilled technicians.

The program targets students in the OCCC GM ASEP pathway, with first-year candidates considered and second-year applicants encouraged. Paid internship with opportunity to grow in a dynamic energy company.

Qualifications

• Student in first year working on a degree in the OCCC GM ASEP program.
• Consideration may be given to second-year ASEP program students.
• Internship is paid and aims to develop mechanical skills in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry-level mechanical repairs on automobiles and equipment.
• Assist with mechanical work on company vehicles and special equipment including engines, boring machines, trenchers, augers, dozers, generators, motors, and CNG equipment.
• Assist and/or service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair company vehicles and special equipment.
• Order and/or secure parts and supplies.
• Clean garage/service bay area.
• Maintain and/or prepare reports and records (work logs, service orders, maintenance records, pressure readings, time sheets).
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Lift, push, pull, or move objects up to 10–50+ pounds as specified.
• Climb and maneuver around vehicles and equipment; use tools and equipment; communicate instructions.

Work assignments are anticipated to be in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

Performs entry-level mechanical repairs on automobiles and equipment.

Assist with and/or perform mechanical work on company vehicles and special equipment including but not limited to:

• Internal combustion, diesel, and natural gas powered engines
• Boring machines, trenchers, and augers
• Dozers and tractors
• Generators and electric motors
• CNG equipment
• Welding and fabrication

Assist and/or service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair company vehicles and special equipment.

Order and/or secure parts and supplies.

Clean garage/service bay area.

Maintain and/or prepare reports and/or records including but not limited to:

• Work logs and service orders
• Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records
• Pressure readings
• Material and supply orders
• Time sheets

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Lift, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 20 25 times a day; up to 20 pounds 3 5 times a day; up to 30 pounds 3 5 times a day; up to 40 pounds 3 5 times a day; over 50 pounds 3 5 times a day.

Climb and/or maneuver over, under, and around vehicles and equipment while servicing, maintaining, and/or repairing.

Fine motor skills for making minute adjustments.

Able to operate tools and equipment required.

Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Students who are interested in a career in a dynamic and exciting industry and who are in their first year and are currently working on a degree in the OCCC General Motors ASEP program may be considered for an internship. Consideration may also be given to students in their second year of the OCCC General Motors ASEP program.

Additional Details

Compensation: All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.
