Qualifications

• College Degree and / or 5 years of applicable claims adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claim adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation claims in accordance with established office procedures.
• Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
• Conduct investigations by securing statements and documents (police reports, medical, photos, appraisals).
• Litigation management including strategizing with defense counsel and experts.
• Maintain an appropriate diary on all open files.
• Adhere to state Department of Insurance regulations relevant to loss state.
• Prepare and present claim evaluations to secure appropriate settlement authority.
