Bear River Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Auto Liability Claims Adjuster in Murray, Utah. This in-office role manages Personal Lines Auto claims through the full lifecycle—from investigation and liability evaluation to settlement and closure—with a focus on fair, efficient, and compliant outcomes.

The position emphasizes thorough investigations, clear communication with insureds and claimants, and collaboration with Total Loss, Appraisal, Bodily Injury, and Subrogation teams to deliver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of auto claims experience.
• Strong analytical, evaluative, and interpretive skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications.
• Must possess or be able to obtain applicable adjuster licenses.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage, determine liability, and evaluate damages on Personal Lines Auto claims.
• Conduct thorough investigations using applicable insurance principles, statutory requirements, case law, and jurisdictional considerations.
• Evaluate claim exposures and develop appropriate strategies for fair and cost-effective resolution.
• Communicate clearly with insureds, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, and others by phone, email, text, and mail.
• Obtain recorded statements when appropriate and ask thoughtful questions during investigations.
• Document all pertinent file activity with clear, defensible claim notes.
• Handle difficult conversations with confidence, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Manage a complex caseload balancing organization, prioritization, timeliness, and quality.
• Collaborate with Total Loss, Appraisal, Bodily Injury, and Subrogation for high-quality handling.
• Demonstrate adaptability, accountability, and teamwork.
