Your Responsibilities as an Auto Glass Technician

As an Auto Glass Technician, you are a vital part of our team. You will provide top-notch customer service while demonstrating your solid craftsman skills for auto glass installation services.

Here’s what you’ll do:

1. Install auto glass products for domestic and foreign vehicles.
2. Complete calibrations on vehicles with ADAS safety systems.
3. Perform rock chip repairs.
4. Address other auto glass-related items.
5. Put customers at ease, effectively explaining what services they need to resolve their issues.
6. Collect payment from customers for the work performed.

Job Requirements

The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for the Auto Glass Technician position at Glass Doctor:

1. One year or more of auto glass installation experience, with flat laminated glass cutting experience preferred.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the basic tools of the trade.
3. Must be insurable with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to drive a company vehicle.
4. Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently - as you know, glass can be heavy, and our technicians often work solo.
5. Comfortable using mobile technology and digital software - no pen and paper here.
6. Verification of your prior job experience via reference checks.

1. You are ok with the phrase "good is good enough". That won't work here. Our customers depend on us to do it right the first time, leaving the vehicle clean and not scratching it in the process.
2. You think a broken window is not a big deal. To our customers, when glass breaks, it’s an emergency and safety issue. We take it as seriously as they do.
3. You think working Monday mornings is optional. Our customers depend on us to show up as scheduled. Calling off work at the last minute impacts not just the customer but the whole team.

The pay range for this position is depending on your level of experience as an auto glass installer: $18-$35 an hour.
