Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Porter in Oakland, NJ to support quality repairs by pre-washing vehicles before repairs and ensuring vehicle cleanliness before delivery. The role supports WOW standards and daily housekeeping of both office and production areas.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be able to multitask, and may have automotive experience. Valid driver’s license and age 18+ are required.

Responsibilities

• Execute the WOW plan consistently.
• Maintain daily office interior housekeeping, including trash, floors, and countertops.
• Maintain daily production area housekeeping, dispose waste, and organize tools and equipment.
• Keep parking lots and grounds neat and orderly; shovel sidewalks when needed.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs.
• Clean vehicles interior and exterior after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary.
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete.
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license

Compensation Details

$15- $18 / Hour Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.

Supplemental Pay: This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
