Responsibilities include planning repair work, estimating costs, using specialized tools, realigning chassis, replacing parts, welding, and painting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore pre-accident condition.
• Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Realign chassis and frames to fix structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections and glass as needed.
• Weld and reattach parts and apply factory or equivalent paint.
