Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring for an auto body technician responsible for planning and performing vehicle repairs. You will use cutting tools, hydraulics, and fillers to restore panels and chassis to factory specifications, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role includes estimating costs, realigning frames, replacing damaged parts, and finishing with paint concealment and detailing. A strong eye for detail and teamwork is essential in our fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school program or apprenticeship favored.
• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods to repair vehicle bodies and how to use trade tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins where needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections and install new or aftermarket parts.
• Repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
• Weld and fit parts; repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalents.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
