In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality custom builds, ensuring every vehicle highlights excellence in craftsmanship. Your key responsibilities include painting, prepping, and finishing vehicles; performing custom bodywork; and maintaining meticulous attention to detail throughout the build process. What You Will Do:

• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components with detailed documentation to support proper realignment during assembly.
• Align body panels to prepare for bodywork and finishing.
• Prime, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting and finishing.
• Apply skim coats of body filler and execute expert block sanding techniques for a flawless, straight finish.
• Spray a variety of primers, basecoats, and clearcoats with precision.
• Wet sand and polish painted parts and vehicles to achieve a show-quality finish.
• Deliver premium paint finishes on custom vehicles and associated components.
• Assist with the reassembly of body, suspension, and interior components, ensuring precision and care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure an exceptional custom build.
• Engage with customers in a professional manner, providing updates and insights as needed.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve quality and efficiency.
• Other duties as beneficial to the success of QA1.

The Critical Skills and Experience You’ll Need:

• Thorough knowledge in the automotive refinishing process.
• Hands-on experience in prepping surfaces and applying automotive primers, basecoats, and clearcoats.
• Ownership of basic hand tools to assemble and disassemble vehicles.
• Basic MIG welding experience for minor repairs and touch-ups after fabrication.
• Commitment to brand excellence, acting as a Detroit Speed & Engineering champion in all aspects of work.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback and continuously improve craftsmanship.
• Efficient work habits with the ability to meet billable hours’ goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed to meet deadlines.
• Basic math, reading, and English communication skills for accurate documentation and team collaboration.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, maintaining efficiency under high-demand conditions with minimal supervision.
