Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced auto body technician to examine damaged vehicles, plan and execute repairs, and ensure quality results within designated timelines. The role requires strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes, frame alignment, and safety practices.

The ideal candidate will oversee apprentices, interpret measuring data, and coordinate with a team to determine repair versus replacement strategies, while maintaining high safety and quality standards on each vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must have completed body repair training and hold relevant certifications.
• Experience with frame alignment and measuring data interpretation is preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturer repair processes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicle and plan repair process.
• Communicate with team on vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.

• Remove upholstery and components to access areas for repair.
• Attend required safety meetings and participate in ongoing training.

• Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders.
• Participates in all required safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
• Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions and explains procedures to assistant.

Requirements

• Ability to use frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.
